Soooo... my last big gig was starting and running a European commodity pricing business where I got a blank cheque* from the CEO. The team I created did something extremely cool with it.We launched a brand new trading platform and went from Zero to One (the big step). Except "one" was $750 million plus of benchmarked deliveries between the biggest buyers and sellers in the world.It meant beating S&P to market by two years, running a lavish 200-guest annual party in a Park Lane pentouse, communicating a clear understandable message in a sector where complexity is used as a weapon.You can just imagine all the social media, PR, tours, seminars, dinners at the Hanoi Press club etc etcAnd to do it we built a virtual team with wfh (back in 2010), stand-up meetings and an annual retreat. It brought talent I could only dream of.In the process I got to learn a bit of everything, from being in the data room of a billion dollar acquisition, to getting key accounts to risk changing platform, to getting our news and articles in the key publications, to scripting "the best educational (animated) film I've ever seen" about trading.Today I'm having a wonderful adventure learning about growing things, greenhouses and how to feed the world at the world-leading greenhouse climate experts and shade screen supplier, Svensson. That's Monday to Thursday and on Friday I help professionals to connect together to make amazing things happen at my startup DIDU Sweden. And I do some freelance copywriting and digital accreditation consultancy as well. That means there's not a lot of slack in the schedule, but I do love working closely with a few selected clients to create first class impact.
