I worked side-by-side with a professor on campus to develop and execute a research plan in which we gathered data on local volunteer firefighters. The purpose of this research was to shine a light on a fairly under-researched section of the strength and conditioning community. Within this research, my professor and I gathered anthropometric data within a lab setting as well as in-field data relating to blood pressure and active/resting heart rate while performing a simulated fire ground test (SFGT).

I spent the summers of 2021-2022 coaching high school and middle school level athletes under the direction of a supervisor strength and conditioning coach. I coached approximately 150 students and accumulated approximately 600 hours of experience. Within this role, I ensured the safety of the student-athletes while also teaching them correct form and motivating them to push themselves.

I worked in a full-time concrete finisher position while taking a semester off following the completion of high school. This position taught me a lot about real, hard work. Working full-time in a position like this is very mentally and physically demanding which requires focus as well as a hard work mentality.
