Dimitris has an overall experience of more than 20 years in programme/project management and coordination coming mainly from his programme and project manager posts held at the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission (EACEA, Erasmus Mundus and External Cooperation Unit) and the Socrates, Leonardo and Youth Technical Assistance Office (Education and Training department) which was providing management services to the European Commission. The domain of his work covered mainly the management of the whole life cycle of projects in European and international higher education but also various horizontal tasks related to the functioning of the organization.

Through his professional experience he has gained a significant insight in development and implementation of EU policies and programmes especially in higher education internationalization and quality assurance and cooperation with countries outside Europe and/or European Union. He has acquired expertise in various fields such as project and process management, relations with stakeholders, data analysis, drafting of documents (reports/guides/manuals), evaluation and monitoring methods and tools, delivery of training. He is a Greek native speaker, a fluent user of German, English and French and understands basic Dutch and Spanish. Dimitris is currently active as an independent adviser in education, training and research projects preparation and implementation. He is also cooperating with several Erasmus+ national agencies as external expert and with the European Commission as ethics external reviewer in HORIZON Europe programme. Moreover, he provides advice and reviews on data protection issues. He is further looking for ways to transfer/apply his skills-based experience to diverse domains of work and is open to explore new and challenging opportunities.
