CMC Limited developed a Rabbit 3000 Microprocessor based VMU (Vehicle Mounted Unit) for efficiently tracking the fuel-carrying tankers for IOCL and HPCL. Through tracking, these companies benefitted in reducing the malpractices, losses incurred and timely delivery of fuel (Petrol and Diesel) from refilling stations to the retail outlets. The manufacturing of the 25,000 VMUs for IOCL and 3,000 VMUs for HPCL was outsourced to Merritronix Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad.• Achievements# Efficiently played the role of a Production Coordinator as a representative of CMC Ltd. Ensured timely communication of issues and concerns to the Reporting Manager.# Supervised and assisted a team of 25 Trainee Engineers for Unit testing each and every VMU.# Field testing of VMUs at IOCL, Vashi depot after their installation on fuel carrying tankers to RCA (Root Cause Analyse) the identified observations/ issues.# Successfully installed VMUs; entire IOCL Vashi depot made "live" for online tracking of fuel carrying tankers with support of 2 engineers. # Identified the improvement areas for the vehicle tracking through accurate analysis of daily reports and highlighting the key issues.
