David McCann is a strategic and passionate expert on clean energy, environment, and climate change, with international experience in the private, government, non-profit sectors.David graduated with dual degrees in law and economics from the University of Melbourne, and in 2006 completed a masters in constitutional and human rights law at Columbia Law School as a Fulbright Scholar. David worked as Associate to the Chief Justice of the Australian High Court, the Hon Murray Gleeson, in 2004-5. From 2006, David worked on international clean energy and climate projects during four exciting years at the William J. Clinton Foundation's Climate Initiative, based in Harlem. In 2010, he returned to Australia to take up a position as a senior adviser to the federal Minister for Climate Change, Penny Wong. While in Canberra, David was promoted to positions within the climate change and then health portfolios, becoming Chief of Staff to the Cabinet Secretary, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister for Mental Health and Ageing, and then Chief of Staff to the Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate. He returned to live and work in New York in 2013 following the Australian election.David is now Director of Strategy & Communications for ColorZen, a New York-based environmental start-up working to reduce energy consumption and water pollution with a revolutionary technology for the textile industry.
