I have 15 years' experience working in the Education and Childcare sector from Early Years and Foundation Stage up to Youthwork with young adults. Most of that time has been dedicated to supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities where my greatest passion for this kind of work has always been. However whilst working across London in a number of different settings and roles including nurseries, schools and adventure playgrounds, I completed my Bachelor of Education degree in 2017 obtaining QTS the following year.

My role was facilitating better understanding/regulation of childrens' emotions, reducing violent/disruptive behaviours, and increasing attendance at school and participation with the class and curriculum through close 1:1 support from KS1 into KS2.

As a "Nursery Education Officer" I was made a Keyworker for 6-8 children at a time. As well as being responsible for the education and welfare of children across the centre aged 0.5-4 years old (predominantly toddlers aged 2-4), I was also expected to take special interest in my Key-children and their development. This entailed: feeding; changing and toilet-training; interventions for children with SEND; planning, implementing and assessing activities to aid childrens development against EYFS Framework; documenting children's progress; liaising with parents and other internal/external staff.

Reception Class Teacher (NQT) within a single form entry school in Tower Hamlets. Working within a shared indoor/outdoor space catering to 25 a Nursery-aged children and 30 Reception-aged children between a team of 6 EYFS practitioners (including myself). The job required ordinary responsibilites of a class teacher including but not limited to: ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children both on and off site; planning, teaching and assessing the curriculum for my class and planning joint activities for nursery class with their teacher; identifying children with additional needs and liaising with appropriate professionals to provide early intervention; contributing to whole school initiatives and events e.g. assemblies, fundraisers.

Studying and working across EYFS/KS1/KS2, this role developed the skills vital for primary education, such as: excellent communication, thorough curriculum understanding, varied behaviour management strategies, consisten organisation and the ingenuity to solve problems as they arise. As this was an Initial Teacher Training (ITT) year, it required teaching different classes in different schools and quickly adjusting to the different policies and practices of different settings.

This role had a broad range of responsibilities and assignments. Largely my work focused on supporting children with SEND in accessing the curriculum or on implementing a seperate curriculum tailored to their needs. Whether taking the whole class for PPA cover, supporting smaller groups of children alongside the class teacher, or working 1:1 with children needing constant aid, helping the children to cope with the challenges of everyday school-life was a mainstay of the work.As my experience grew, I took on more responsibilities such as breakfast clubs before schools, attending residential stays with the children overnight, and managing the after-school provision and school choir. Opportunities for professional development also arose and it was during this period of employment that I completed my Bachelor of Education (Honours).

Lots of physical outdoor play e.g. team sports, cycling, climbing, den-building and trips offsite to local leisure and activity centres.Over the years that I worked as a Sessional Playworker (semi-regular/ad hoc role) I visited many of the adventure playgrounds under Kids' juristiction (Hayward, North London; Hackney, East London; Lady Allen and Chelsea playgrounds', South London)and worked with children of all ages and abilities including the evening youth club
