About Daniel Cheek
I will always be a salesperson at heart, but I have had the opportunity to grow into other strategic areas that go beyond a purely sales focus. In my career, I have transitioned from and between being an individual sales contributor, a sales leader, a sales enabler, a project/program manager, and many other roles/responsibilities that don't fall neatly into any one specific category.I have been fortunate to work with many amazing colleagues and companies that have helped me learn and continue to grow my career and my professional development.I value commitment to excellence, big picture thinking without compromising the smaller details, owning mistakes and working through their solution, and asking how we can get something done versus saying it can't be done. One of my biggest professional pet peeves is when I hear "we've always done it this way" or "that won't work here." Let's think forward and work through the WHYs of both of those to understand, collaborate, and think beyond our own comfort zones and settling for mediocrity. Think bigger, challenge yourself, push others to be better, and never settle for "good enough."
Listed skills include Management, Training, Recruiting, Leadership, and 24 others.

Business Development Manager, Global Enterprise Sales
Current
Sr. Gtm Program Manager, Global Training Partnerships And Strategic Alliances
During my time at Red Hat, I have been involved with sales enablement and business development programs and projects that span our Global Learning Services department. As a member of the Global Business Development team, I have worked with our Red Hat Training and Certification sales reps, Leadership Team, Training Partners, IBM Synergy, and other cross functional departments to help promote and elevate Red Hat Training and Certification.I have had many areas of focus that have included expanding those same goals with the broader Red Hat organization, IBM, and our Community Learning Partners, while also heading up various strategic projects.Currently, my role has shifted to focus solely on Go To Market programs and projects with our Global Training Partners and Strategic Alliances. I have a focus on ensuring customer adoption and success through training and certification by helping our partners reach as much of our customer base as possible. I have also joined Red Hat's Cloud Services strategy team to help drive our training and certification onto various marketplaces like AWS Marketplace and Microsoft Azure Marketplace. As Red Hat continues to grow and evolve, I will be responsible for exploring new opportunities to reach as many Red Hat learners as possible.Red Hat's success depends upon our customers' success, so I am proud to help support those efforts.
Sr. Global Program Manager, Global Learning Services And Ibm Synergy
Global Program Manager, Global Learning Services
Sales Enablement Director
As a Sales Enablement Director, it is my primary responsibility to help our sales team succeed and grow. The core requirements of my job are to help new Account Managers and Account Executives with their initial on-boarding, provide ongoing training to our sales team as we develop new software, create useful tools and collateral to help make selling easier, and to provide a bridge with communication to other departments that help support the team.Training and continued growth are two of the weakest points with far too many sales organizations, so it is crucial to provide multiple paths to help each salesperson reach their full potential.I use my background as a creative, disciplined, and successful sales contributor/leader to help coach and challenge our sales team to go beyond what they have always done.In order to develop a systematic strategy for repeatable success, I find the following tweaks to common phrases to be imperative -"That would never work"...unless I had a well thought out plan for execution. All too often, poor execution can give a great strategy a negative result. "This is how I have always done it"...but I am open to new ideas to help me grow. In order to continue to succeed, you must constantly challenge yourself to think outside the box and push yourself beyond the norm.My ultimate goal is for success to be the rule, not the exception.
Corporate Account Manager
My main focus was increasing revenue and expanding LMI product portfolio into an existing book of business. This was achieved by prospecting within my accounts and using a consultative style to help uncover pains and link them to a solution LMI could provide. In my short time with LMI, I was able to reach the top 5% of sales reps in my second quarter in the position. On top of my success with sales performance, I was recognized as a winner of a company wide Sandler Training contest that demonstrated my mastery using the concepts within this methodology.
