Retirement is fine, but there are days when I miss work. I moonlight as a pianist, and that activity fills the gap. I had two careers, one in music, one in high tech. I taught music theory for 18 years in the New England Conservatory, plus a couple of years before that getting my feet on the ground after graduate school. As a music teacher, high school seniors were the only level that I never taught. On the tech side, I worked for Wang, Stratus, Isis, Aspect, Cisco, Verbind, Spectra, and then Cisco again, from which I retired after 20 years of technical writing. Along the way I did some consulting and for a while had my own little corporation of which I was CEO, Employee, Accountant, Tax Specialist, and Human Resource Manager (of me).For those of you who know me, the bad news is that I haven't lost my sense of humor.
