I have been in the hospitality industry for 38 years and have worked in all manner and type of hotels from 2,000 rooms on down. I have worked in corporate, convention and resort hotels and worked in every aspect of the industry including rooms management, food and beverage and held every position available. I have opened new hotels and renovated existing properties. I have run historic hotels and have been involved in every community as it relates to hospitality. I have held position of President or Vice President of the local hotel association in 6 cities and have served on the boards of directors in 4 cities for the local convention and visitor bureaus.My goal these days is to enjoy life in this beautiful area and teach my staff to achieve more than they think they are capable of attaining. Even if it is not in hospitality.Specialties: Opening new hotels, rebuilding staff and training to be of service to guests and building an outstanding sales program that involves the entire staff. New Project Development and analysis.Started a new venture and purchased the Astoria Crest Motel with a partner. We have just completed a lobby rennovation and soon will be starting rennovation and construction of a small meeting facility for small weddings, corporate events and social groups. We have 39 rooms, 32 which have "Epic Views" of the Columbia River. History abounds in this area and we have the only privately held offical historical marker on our property showing where Lewis & Clark spent several nights while looking for a place to build their winter camp (Fort Clatsop).Bottom line, I am good at what I do but my staff is better.
