Facilitate the special education process for both initially referred and continuing special education students by understanding and implementing state and federal special education legislation and processesCollaborate with inclusion teachers, other team facilitators, the East Longmeadow Public Schools Director of Student Services, guidance staff, and administration in order to provide high quality special education services to studentsCoordinate initial and re-evaluations, arrange meetings with stakeholders, facilitate evaluation meetings, prepare and distribute all relevant paperwork and meeting materials, guide parents through the evaluation or reevaluation process, ensure Team meetings flow smoothly, and collaborate with a variety of staff in order to address the unique needs of each student receiving special education services or recently referred for special education services

Conduct functional assessments, develop and utilize data collection systems, design and implement behavior plans and interventions, train relevant caregivers on the implementation of behavior plans, and monitor data and progress of behavior change toward goals

Formulate lesson plans and organize assignments for students with various behavioral, medical, and psychological diagnoses, and teach individualized lessons on a variety of subjects, including math, science, social studies, and English/language arts

Implement home-based activities of daily living, self-care, leisure skill, and academic teaching programs with a child diagnosed with Autism

Conduct supplemental teaching of all subjects for grades 7 and 8 and modify materials to meet the needs of students with a variety of language-based learning disabilities; provide support, accommodations, and modifications to academic content and materials per student IEPs in the general education setting
