In this new role with the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz I am responsible for coordinating training opportunities with staff as well as on boarding and off boarding process training for supervisors and managers on staff.

In this position I work closely with County of Santa Cruz Departments to Manage the Volunteer Initiative Program. I work to develop volunteer positions and internships within county government. I am responsible for recruiting and matching volunteers with open opportunities as well as helping develop opportunities for unsolicited volunteers. I review all applications, conduct interviews and process candidates to find the right fit within the Volunteer Initiative Program. All current volunteer hours are tracked and are used to produce statistics for county reporting. Each year, in conjunction with National Volunteer Week, my program nominates 20 of the top county volunteers for county wide recognition.

In this position I work with volunteers dedicated to painting out graffiti in their neighborhoods. Encouraging the community to come together to adopt neighborhoods in the County, I actively recruit volunteers and track the hours and the square footage that the volunteers spend each month removing graffiti. Working with the County of Santa Cruz, I relay reports of graffiti on public property for removal.

As the South County Program Coordinator for the Volunteer Center-Watsonville, I am responsible for recruiting and placing volunteers in the Volunteer Center programs such as the Transportation Program and Adopt A Family Program.For our Transportation program, I coordinate and connect drivers with Senior Citizens in the community that are in need of rides. These include Dr. appointments, grocery shopping and banking, allowing the once "shut in" members of our community to be a little more independent.Additionally, I am responsible for coordinating and directing volunteers for our Adopt A Family gift distribution program . This includes coordinating the set up and tear down of a temporary warehouse, coordinating incoming donations, coordinating the "Adoption" process for local families that are in need and coordinating all of the volunteers needed to help this operation run smoothly. Our program serves more that 475 Santa Cruz County families in need.

Utilizing local business, I work with clients who have either completed vocational training or are seeking on the job training opportunities. I help them develop resumes, cover letters and follow up correspondence. I work with my client base on job retention to help them succeed in their employment opportunities.

Using my extensive Human Resource experience and my experience working with Special Needs Children, I develop programs to help my clients become job ready and to find part time employment. Using different software programs, I work with a client base to assess job interests, develop a master applications and skill based resumes. Additionally, I work with my clients practicing mock interviews and if appropriate help them research applicable college programs

I work one on one with children on the Autistic Spectrum.

Provide Internet Recruiting Solutions and training, Affirmative Action Software and plan consultation and preparation.

As the Staffing Manager I was responsible for the Staffing Department to include two contract Senior Recruiters, two Associate Recruiters and 1 Administrative Specialist. My responsibilities included attending job airs, reviewing all outstanding open positions and reviewing all offer packages for final approval of the CFO.As a Senior Recruiter, I was responsible for conducting research to develop Seagate Technology's Internet Recruiting Strategy Review, recommend and negotiate contracts for Internet job posting and resume data bases. Develop Seagate Technology's Staffing web site and Recruiter resource intranet site. Develop and facilitate Internet Recruiting Training for Seagate in-house recruiting staff. Analyze and review data to support internet advertising strategy. Represent Seagate Technology at several Diversity conference job fairs (NSBE, SWE, WITI, etc.) Prepare and present Seagate's Affirmative Action Plan for Corporate headquarters as well as supervise and review AAP's for all Seagate US sites.
