Southern Sun, Waterfront Hotel: I was awarded the responsibility of completing the high end finishes to the suites in the establishment. The project was completed on time and within its given baselines and 5 star finishes. The project value was upward of R35 millionAs a technical site manager, I was in control of managing the installations of all the services to the rooms which included LED low voltage light systems, relocation and installation of hotel standard service plug points, air-conditioning systems and controls, extraction units for bathrooms etc. Standard Bank, Rondebosch: This project involved remodeling the bank to a higher spec and introducing new electrical lighting, plugs and security features as per plan. I managed the construction and technical aspects including the installation of new ATM’s, new server racks and UPS systems. I was handed this project mid- way, and had the challenge of bringing the lagging project back on track. I finished the project within its baselines and with thumbs up.

2005-2006 & Jan 2011- 2012: This Senior Engineers position includes the implementation, design, execution and handover of structured cabling projects. My technical abilities include, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, voice, Fiber Optic and electrical cabling and terminations. Fusion splicing, Fiber Optic polishing and testing, using Fluke OTDR Tester and polishing kits. Terminations of Cab end patch-panels and Testing using Fluke DTX 1800 series. Installation of network cabinets, along with earthing and electrical supply management. Installation of active equipment along with patching and testing of cab and remote ends. Completing of project close-out documentation and records for office administration purposes.

Projects Completed:Southern Sun Hotel, Eastern Boulevard: I was part of the management team that completed the gut out and refits to 296 rooms, hallways and conference areas to this hotel. I assisted in managing all sub-contractors and coordinate the activities to meet our project milestones. We had a large scale electrical renovation which required special attention. Each room had to be chased and rewired whilst the hotel remained in operation. Cape Royale 5 Star Hotel: A very prestigious and high spec project with a very tight deadline. Our team was in control of the fit-out stage of the hotel from ceilings & partitioning to electrical, plumbing, timber structures, moldings, 6000m2 of Marble and slate tiling, rendering, rooftop swimming pools etc.
