• Develop solutions to forest management issues, considering social and environmental concerns and maintaining the ability of landowners to achieve reasonable economic objectives.• Coordinate efforts of WFPA forestland operations managers, hydrologists, wildlife biologists and regulatory affairs personnel toward achievement of forest management goals and solutions.• Educate and inform members on policy issues concerning forest management.• Develop and apply information and science to advance and support sound forest management practices.• Encourage cooperative relationships and processes with interested parties and agencies relating to forest practices and public resource protections issues.• Develop statewide confidence in Washington’s Forest Practices regulatory system.• Develop and coordinate programs, strategies and time frames within state, regional and national forest products groups and associations and other non-forest industry groups to proactively address environmental issues which impact forest practices.• Adopt a set of principles for natural resource management and work with all forest landowners and operators to comply with these principles and to accept a higher level of responsibility for ensuring forest practices meet public expectations.• Serve as co-chair for the Cooperative Monitoring Evaluation and Research Committee, the science arm of the Adaptive Management Program, since August 2015. • Aggregate operational and regulatory implementation issues of membership and develop strategy to address them.

• Developed, planned, scheduled, and implemented the unit’s timber sale action plan to ensure assigned sustainable harvest levels were met. • Timber sale preparation; including general sale layout, road location, stream typing, assessing slope stability and wildlife habitat, silvicultural harvest prescriptions, ensured harvest operability and economic viability, requested and utilized specialists when appropriate, ensured legal property lines were established, acquired legal access via Road Use Permits or easements, estimated timber volumes, and conducted economic marketing analyses to optimize timber value. • Ensured that management activities adhere to all agency policies & procedures, Habitat Conservation Plan, watershed analyses, landscape plans, and forest practice laws. • Prepared and reviewed legal documents (SEPA, Forest Practice Applications, and timber sale contracts) and other internal agency documents for timber sale activities. • Conducted pre-harvest review of timber sales with other agencies, tribes, interest groups and neighbors; participated in the Timber Fish and Wildlife (TFW) process. • Utilized spatial data in ArcGis to plan long term harvest and road system needs. • Responsible for field inspections and recommendations for obtaining and granting rights of ways with both small and industrial landowners. • Administered timber sale contracts for compliance.• Achieved 100% free-to-grow status of reforested areas via timely silvicultural treatments. • Supervised a staff of 4-5 NR Specialist 1’s in daily activities while incorporating and observing agency and union administrative policies and formalities. • Served as liaison to general public regarding state land management and public use.• Responded and documented incidents of theft, vandalism, garbage dumping, and trespassing. • Communicated and worked with a variety of user and interest groups to establish a professional image and foster respectful relationships.
