Lead Application Developer
- Hired full time to be a Java language expert and taught Java, Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and Object-Oriented Programming to Oracle Forms developers despite never having previously written in the Java language.- Led development teams that created applications in an in-house Advertisement Sales application suite for ESPN. The suite was eventually chosen by Disney to replace the other Advertisement Sales applications being used by their other business units both domestically and internationally.- Led the development and User Experience (UX) for a Java/GWT-based advertisement logging application.- Independently developed the software, designed the UX and tested a stand-alone application that computes the compensation for sales executives replacing an existing Microsoft excel-based solution that reduced the potential for user errors.- Played a critical role in persuading the architecture team to use emerging HTML 5 technology instead of Silverlight. The Silverlight technology was no longer supported shortly after the technology decision was implemented.- Championed adoption of the Agile methodology.- Recognized as the “go-to” resource when mathematically complex or performant algorithms were needed to be developed across the application suite.- Interviewed, hired and trained the majority of the development team leads.
