Artist Booking Agent. Coda was a fantastic company to work for. I represented live acts and DJs for tours and appearances at venues, clubs and festivals in the UK, Europe, Far East, Australasia and South America. Clients ranged from grassroots to arena level. Duties included:• Liaison with Artists, managers, record labels, promoters and sub-agents in above-mentioned territories to place Artists and coordinate tours in line with promotional schedules and Artists’ career strategies.• Negotiation of deals to obtain best circumstances, both financial and of Artists’ requirements, for engagements, and the contracting thereof. • Practicalities – Work Visa applications, Foreign Artist taxation issues, arrangement of travel, collation of information and provision of itineraries.• Occasionally drafting promotional material.Skills needed:• Exceptional communication - both verbal and written - with clients, managers, stakeholders, promoters and technical staff, dealing with people from all types of backgrounds• Office software• Diplomacy and negotiation• Being incredibly organised with everything and covering your ass.
