Retired federal law enforcement leader with over 23 years of experience in investigations, security/enforcement operations, and international diplomacy. Now serving as the Security Manager/Facility Security Officer (FSO) for APM Terminals and Maersk in the Port of Los Angeles. Formerly served as the Head of Security for DHS Global Forwarding in Los Angeles, and under contract with the U.S. Dept. of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), as a Advisor for Human Trafficking & Smuggling and Money Laundering investigations. As a Supervisory Special Agent with DHS Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), served in domestic, international, and headquarter settings. This included over 9 years combined as an overseas Attache Special Agent in Europe and South America. Accomplishments included multiple complex investigations, enforcement operations, and capacity building programs for HSI, ICE and U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Extensive experience with developing and managing vital stakeholder relationships (both internal/external) at all levels - federal, international, state, and local. Areas of expertise include national security, weapons trafficking/technology counter-proliferation, money laundering and counter-smuggling investigations. My experience and career accomplishments demonstrate a commitment to national security and law enforcement priorities. I have done this through developing necessary team capabilities, fostering agency collaboration, and maintaining fiscal management. I am bilingual in Spanish, a former accredited U.S. diplomat, with a Top-Secret security clearance.
