Oversight of 237 Public and Charter schools ensuring compliance with the Omnibus School Safety Act. Assisting schools conduct tabletop exercises, lockdown drills, infrastructure assessments, active threat training and preparing safety plans. Developing and implementing the first statewide reunification process for all schools by creating district led and charter school teams. Adopted the Standard Response Protocol for our schools and pushed this statewide as well. Using both methods has enabled us to prepare, respond and recover evenly across the board. Reducing the need to learn multiple systems as well when personnel move from one district to another. Currently, mapping 237 schools with high quality floor plans, which will be pushed to all first reponders, emergency management agencies and 9-1-1 centers. This allows for better training and response to emergencies.

Prepared our community for man-made or natural disasters, by maintaining the Emergency Operations Plan, conducting training events and meetings. Prepared grants to purchase generators and maintain resiliency for our critical infrastructure. Managed the preparation, response and recovery from Hurricane Irene and Superstorm Sandy. Completed reimbursement grants for both major storms and smaller storms during the ten years. Recovered over $200,000 in funds for employee costs and damage to our community. Worked diligently to develop a trusting relationship with our community by meeting with members in person, before, during and after storms. Listening to their voices, advocating for them in reimbursements and lending support where needed.

Oversee the Police Department command staff, officers, and civilian employees. Maintained the agency budget, complete grants and prepare financial statements. Drafted and managed the standard operating procedures, rules, and regulations. Worked with civic groups to help those in need of treatment, developed the Narcan program, presented programs and reduced the stigma facing addiction. Partnered with our schools to prepare emergency plans in the event of an active threat. Assisted as a firearms instructor with our agency to keep officers prepared. Implemented Krav-Maga training for officers, keeping them fit, and prepared in the event of an assault. Achieved accreditation status in 2014. Managed the agency social media platforms, posting critical information and responding diligently to needs.

The liaison with the Morris County Prosecutors Office to manage officer cases, assisting in support of joint investigations and reviewing reports.
