Managing Partner and co-founder, Doug leads S3 Architecture + Development business management. S3 focuses on residential development of multiple dwelling and single-family residences. Projects include developments in the New York City metro area as well as in the New York Hudson Valley. Modernist aesthetics and luxury finishes are blended with warm texture and locally sources materials for a true blend of Town and Country. Sustainable and green building techniques along with preservation of historic structures are key tenets of S3 developments. Doug leads S3 business development, operations, market positioning and client & partner relations. Founding S3’s real estate development and builder entity, Upstate Modernist, Doug has led concept and actualization of multiple large-scale developments in the New York Hudson Valley totaling in excess of 450 acres. Doug is an entrepreneur offering S3 a blend of business, design and technology focus. He leads S3 team interior design concepting, oversees project planning, and as a licensed real estate broker in New York state, Doug oversees sales & marketing. Doug is an entrepreneur who has successfully launched and managed businesses in creative and technical genres bringing a blend of business, design and technology focus. As Chief Technology Officer at Insala, Doug led strategic technology initiatives and served as chief software architect. Doug is an original founder of Insala and responsible for initial design and development of all technical operations and supported global implementations for clients such as Coca-Cola, Credit Suisse, GM, University of Phoenix, Deloitte, KPMG and Ernst & Young. Doug is educated in natural sciences, holding a Master of Science degree in Horticulture from Texas A&M University where he was a research fellow focusing on micro propagation and physical mutagensis. Doug was named to the inaugural selection of the Aggie 100 program, a program recognizing the 100 fastest growing companies founded by graduates of the University.Prior to Insala, Doug founded web technology firm Neotrek focusing on hosted intranet portal development and membership solutions.
