Dov Ben-Shimon is the Chief Executive Officer of the CSS, the national Jewish Defense and Security agency.From 2014 to 2024 Dov served as Executive Vice President & Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, the largest Jewish nonprofit in New Jersey. Prior to joining Federation in September 2014, he served as Director of Strategic Partnerships at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, an international Jewish rescue and relief organization. Previously, Dov was Major Gifts Officer at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, Director of Resources for the Israeli Reform Movement in Jerusalem, Chargé d’Affaires (Deputy Ambassador) at the Israeli Embassy in Luanda, Angola, and assistant spokesman to Foreign Minister Shimon Peres. Born in England, Dov moved to Israel at the age of 18. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in International Relations from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He served as an Air Force rescue medic and Infantry combat medic in the Israel Defense Forces.
