As one of four Marines, as part of the Joint Task Force Enabler (JTFE), I was responsible for establishing and maintaining an Active Directory 2003 environment with Exchange 2003 providing email services. On top of the duties inherent to Windows 2003, I was responsible for the deployment of other programs necessary for all end users to receive all the services available. The product of which was a robust domain supplying communication and security to over 3000 users.As a networking engineer, I was responsible for creating a robust, redundant, scalable network, expanding throughout western Iraq, through the use of copper, fiber, wireless, and satellite transmission mediums. While in the Anbar province, we became the first MEU to establish communications to the ISP, as well as tap into the established network, through the use of BGP and prefix lists. Following the BGP connection with the established network, multicast was later routed through this link in order to provide critical video feeds to Marines of the 13 MEU, as well as morale television (AFN) feeds multicasted through the network.

- Established and maintained two separate Active Directory 2003 domains with Exchange Services, supporting over 3000 users.- Connected multiple BGP ASNs together, creating links to the internet, intranet, and extranet of adjacent units, in order to provide IPv4 unicast and multicast address families.- Created, implemented, and oversaw physical and logical security of the network and network resources.

While acting as liaison for 13 MEU communications, assisted in projects throughout the ITT organization to lend my experience and aid. Assisted in creating a web oriented trouble ticket system as well as communication packages closely related to communications gear the 13th MEU uses while deployed. -Unified Marine and Army manpower towards a common goal with all units benefitting greatly from the combined ability of the technicians devoted to single tasks at a time.- Bridged the information barriers between the Army and USMC to better improve communication services shared between the two.
