Why is it that we remember something from one business presentation but not another? As a cognitive neuroscientist, I've spent the past decade researching what makes content memorable. And I have helped businesses apply science-based guidelines to influence their own audience's memory with precision. I work with clients in four ways: 1) Help them craft their messages/presentations using evidence-based guidelines and 2) Teach brain science workshops for creating memorable messages. 3) Deliver keynote speeches about neuroscience and messaging during public events. And 4) conduct neuroscience research using EEG technology.My biggest epiphany in my job has been that memory is mandatory to business success. You can't survive in business unless you have customers and you don't have customers unless you stay on their minds. As a memory expert, I've helped companies such as GE, McDonalds, AT&T, HP, Genentech, P&G, JP Morgan, Google, Fidelity to create messages and presentations that are based on how the brain remembers information long-term and is likely to act on that information.As much as I love science and memory, I am often humbled by how quickly our brains forget. I am known to forget names and passwords and why I opened the refrigerator door. It's great to be humbled by memory because each day I ask my clients: what did you forget today?
