Responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting implementation and/or support of Cedars-Sinai installation of Hospital Billing module. Serve as the senior point of contact with clinical/business areas who are the primary users of the information system, leading standard implementation approaches, conducting or leading analysis on workflows and system tailoring needs, assessing hardware upgrade needs, and overall coordination of team activities. Also responsible for providing deep application understanding, displaying excellent verbal and written communication skills and a customer-service oriented attitude in defining and supporting appropriate technology uses for the assigned clinical/business area.

Perform needs assessment to determine level of training needed by staff for various sub-departments within Patient Financial Services. Collaborate with unit management in the development of curriculum, including lesson plans, materials, and methods of training to meet the needs of the department. Prepare training programs that result in a captivating, informative adult learning experience. Conduct instructor-led system and subject-specific training for: New hires, new/revised policy and procedures, compliance, and/or other subjects as needed. Administer and grade proficiencies, providing feedback and retesting if necessary. Provide additional training required to correct performance deficiencies, including one-on-one intervention as needed. Monitor improvement after training. Maintain and update Patient Financial Services training modules in order to ensure appropriate materials are utilized in staff development. Create and execute job aids for activity-specific functions. Plan and facilitate meetings or planning sessions as needed.

Timely research, review, and response to complaints and/or grievances addressed and directed to the President/CEO and/or members of Executive Management within the Medical Center. Research involves alleged identity thefts, charge audit requests, identifying communication breakdowns, system errors, and responsible parties based on the complaint content. Compose written responses, which include results of the investigation, explanation of any appropriate action(s) deemed necessary in order to cure or resolve the patient’s complaints. Duties also include: development of internal job aids and policies for PFS Patient Relations Department, support department supervisory roles in such as call center time off/vacation requests, coordinating interviews, productivity measurement and monitoring.
