My varied, fast-paced communications career has given me experience across a gamut of industry, including business, engineering, law, entertainment, nonprofit, health and fitness, higher education, and government. Though writing is certainly my strong suit, “storyteller” is probably a more apt description. During my time at one of the nation’s largest universities, I tackled everything from in-depth research features to last minute press releases, event coverage, speeches for higher administration, and videos for social media. I consistently delivered compelling content tailored to a target audience, all while maintaining the institution’s voice.I’ve developed strong relationships within higher administration and in my community, often leading to positive recommendations for new projects. Just in early 2019 I was tapped as the lead writer for my city’s economic development publication and was called on by the president of an engineering firm to help out with marketing communications.My experience includes media relations at the local and national level. My writing has appeared in magazines, newspapers, and web publications, and my first book was contracted by a “Big 5” publisher. As a graduate student, I did extensive research on the emergent trend of transmedia storytelling, leading to my published thesis.In my free time, I flex my creativity as a novelist, screenwriter, and story consultant.
