Oversee the filing of paperwork including immigration petitions for H-1B, TN, O-1, and E-3 visas, visa statuses, EB-1 Outstanding Professor/Researchers and EB-2 PERM Basic and PERM Special Handling. Facilitate immigration status by providing occasional lectures, extensions, J-2 dependents, and J-2 work authorizations with USCIS and assisting ARO and programming for cultural exchange. Deliver professional guidance on filing with the U.S. Department of Labor and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration services via advising departments and employees on immigration filing strategies.Key Accomplishments:• Supervise the International Scholar Advisor on J-1 Exchange Visitors in the categories of Research Scholar, Professor, Short-Term Scholar, Specialist, Alien Physician, and Student Intern on immigration matters.• Provide strategic direction of university global mobility management for International employees• Represent departmental leadership for the institution and wider international community.• Lead the department in absence of the Director of Operations and Management. Act in lieu of the director on international employee compliance management.• Updated the ISSS Scholar policy for the first time since 2004: This included fees, prevailing wage determination in-house decisions, check request processes, the scope of our office’s duties, and new intake processes of scholar documentation and information.• Overhauled the entire employment-based immigration processes to a virtual process, including electronic posting notices and creation of e-forms and workflows in the Sunapsis system.• Switched to in-house prevailing wage determinations.• Created entirely new section of the ISSS website with visual workflows of each employment-based process.• Indicated clear timelines and requirements for each sponsorship type.

Consulted with the Associate Dean of International Education and his employees in the College of Extended & International Education. Provided training on employment-based visas and green card sponsorships, developed new work flows and documentation of work flows, and provided 6 months of initial support after the initial consult.

Led and directed the Fellowship program including budget management/allocations/reconciliations, plan orientation, and cultural and service activities.
