I operationalize effective healthcare strategies to ignite growth, develop programming, and fuel positive patient outcomes.My past experience is unique and extensive in that I co-founded Duke University's Division of Global Neurosurgery and Neurology, for which I most recently served as Associate Director. I assembled financial documentation, project plans, and proposals to illustrate the need and justify funding for this program, gaining consensus from senior leadership at the University to move the program forward. We built the program on the success of several ongoing global initiatives, primarily our ongoing work in Uganda, where our objective was to make neurosurgical services more accessible to the Ugandan population.I led a team of faculty, undergraduate, graduate, and medical students to realize the following results:• Growing the country's qualified neurosurgeon numbers by 300% with visibility and continuous improvement of the residency program• Reviewing 2,000 neurological patient cases to determine elements negatively impacting patient outcomes.• Reducing perioperative and postoperative infections from 35% of all cases to less than 5%.• Cultivating strategic partnerships with the Ugandan Ministry of Health and government officials to ensure the program's forward momentum.I've authored 100+ papers, briefs, and abstracts and attended numerous conferences to publicize our findings, and in my time with the organization, I piloted over 50+ similar projects that have positively impacted healthcare in underserved countries.I drive protocol, policy, and infrastructure change by identifying issues, examining root causes, and leading teams executing data-driven solutions. I'm eager to bring these talents into commercial environments where I can help hospitals drive profitability in tandem with improved patient outcomes.
