I am a director in Sterne Kessler’s Electronics Practice Group, where I specialize in patent litigation in Federal district court and at the International Trade Commission (ITC). With over 100 post-grant proceedings at the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board under my belt, I bring a wealth of experience to the table.My background as a former software developer provides me with deep technical expertise in software-related matters. I excel at presenting source code effectively at trial, particularly in jury trials. My technical proficiency extends across various computing technologies, including telecommunications & networking, computer architecture, data center infrastructure, virtual machines, and storage systems. Additionally, I have applied my software skills to diverse technology areas such as road construction equipment, food processing equipment, payment processing, music streaming, and automobiles.While I represent both plaintiffs and defendants, I specialize in developing defensive strategies, particularly in cases involving non-practicing entities. I have extensive experience representing defendants in key jurisdictions such as the Eastern District of Texas, Western District of Texas, Delaware, and Northern District of California.In addition to patent litigation, I am well-versed in brand enforcement and anti-counterfeiting litigation. I have successfully obtained judgments against hundreds of defendants selling counterfeit products of major consumer brands, totaling over $75 million in judgments and stopping the sales of tens of thousands of counterfeit items over the Internet.Outside of my legal practice, I enjoy pursuing my interests in hardware reverse engineering, particularly in the realm of home automation. I also design and fabricate my own printed circuit boards for devices in the IoT space. As an amateur woodworker, you can often find me exploring wood mills in the DMV area for my latest woodworking projects.
