My team(s) are now perceived as invaluable to supporting the customer in the day-to-day delivery of service to our passengers.Responsibilities & Key Deliverables Include:• Develop & implement KPI's to monitor fleet performance based on contractual requirements• Represent Siemens at the monthly contractual review meeting with the customer to present reliability & performance information to influence & drive improvements• Investigate & negotiate with customer to determine contractual responsibility for service casualties to attribute incidents• Produce, manage, & own the reliability & defect improvement plans• Ensure H&S policies are adhered to, so that everyone goes home safely• Designated point of contact for the customers engineering team, & also operations department, to improve the customer / end users experience and exploit any commercial opportunities• Reliability growth – I have delivered a reliability prediction concept based on open technical issues• Rechargeable work – I have implemented an end-to-end process with our customer, which has been financially beneficial to Siemens & has also seen a huge improvement in how material is consumed by my customers production team• Ownership of real time fleet monitoring which has reduced repeat defects, and saved the customer more than 500 human hours per month• Repair report management - I have developed a database by taking a systemic approach, which manages & improves material performance using visualisation. Responsibilities as the project Technical Engineer are to complete engineering issues and tasks allocated through the Technical Issues database, Support discussions with suppliers as required to exchange technical failure information and potential solutions, develop and document solutions to address and improve safety, reliability and availability, develop solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance via review and update of Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMIs), develop cost effective solutions in line with relevant national and railway industry safety standards, support the production of change control documentation for trials and modifications to implement solutions and eradicate technical problems identified, liaise with production to feedback and cascade knowledge to the production teams, liaise with the training department to develop training material and deliver training where applicable, assist other team members with the development of technical skills through coaching. I also spend a considerable part of my time working closely with the Fleet Performance manager working on reliability and defect improvement plans, trend analysis, route cause analysis, and contractual performance regime responsibilities before making changes to the Fleet in line with Engineering Change Control process. I was immediately tasked with composing complete maintenance manual documentation and procedure review, spare part and special tools management/reconciliation ensuring sufficient lead times and potential cost escalations are in place, work closely with the procurement team to ensure sufficient repairable and consumable spares quantities are in place for the customer/contract for start of service, to set up correct contractual agreements for special tool inspection/calibration, complete formal handover process of all special tools to Eurostar, and was also involved with the overall commissioning of the entire Velaro class 374 fleet.
