The Associate CIO serves as the second-in-command and the chief operating officer ofthe IT organization responsible for the design, development, release, and maintenanceof technology systems and services for all enterprise business functions. This technical,operations-centered senior IT executive role is seen as a trusted partner of theorganization in leading IT to become a highly reliable, business-oriented organization.With the associate role focusing on the "run" aspect of IT, this enables the CIO to focuson the "grow" and "transform" aspects of IT through working with customers, buildingstrong relationships with senior management and key stakeholders, driving innovationand differentiated IT strategy, and improving the business value of IT.

 Overall responsibility for the daily management, operation and design of the campus data networkand related internet connectivity. This includes the campus fiber optic backbone, cable plant andthe core network hardware (routers, firewalls, edge switch devices, wireless access points, etc.)2 of 4 2/26/2021, 8:53 AMand software management/performance tools. Required technical knowledge may includeperformance and security monitoring, equipment configuration changes, firewall management andexternal connectivity issues. Managerial responsibilities include supervision of Network Analysts,needs analysis and network design development, network installations /upgrades, DNS, DHCP,VLAN, subnet implementations, and related equipment maintenance contracts. Consultation,development, and implementation of network policy and enforcement issues. Overall responsibility for the daily management and operation of the central computing systems. This is a multiplatform environment that serves both the Administrative and Academic computing areas. Technical duties include performance and security monitoring, account administration, and end-user problem resolution. Managerial duties include supervision of the System Programmers/Managers, approval of system configuration changes, software, and hardwareinstalls/upgrades, priority setting, on-site and off-site backup and recovery, consultation on application development/integration projects and hardware /software maintenance contracts Leadership and consultation on ITS special projects and task forces.
