I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Minnesota State University - Mankato and completed a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from George Williams College. I currently hold four licenses as a Principal (Wisconsin and Illinois), a 6-12 Mathematics Teacher, and a Director of Curriculum. I have more than 29 years in hands-on mathematics teaching experience and seven years as a department chair.While in college, I played football and was selected as an Honorable-Mention All-Conference Linebacker. Our team participated in the Division 2 National Play-offs. As a team, we were inducted into the MSU-Mankato Hall of Fame in 2012.While serving as a department chair, our department of 14 teachers created our own curriculum and implemented a Standard/Skill Based grading system. In addition, we implemented a computer based artificial learning space for Mathematics called ALEKS which has allowed students to recover math credits, accelerate to honors/AP classes, graduate from high school, and assists in our RtI program. I trained with Paul Riccomini, Ph.D. from Penn State University on best practices for struggling math learners, presented our math departments program at the annual Green Lake State Math Convention, and reviewed Houghton-Mifflin Harcourt's Integrated Math Series textbook. In addition to my teaching and leadership responsibilities, I am a head football coach and an assistant baseball coach.
