As a member of the Symantec Endpoint Security Advanced Team, job duties are rapidly changing and require individuals capable of keeping up with that change. Upon starting this position, I was hired in to the Endpoint Security BCS Advanced Access team. Within 6 month of hire this team was merged with the current Endpoint Security advanced team as to give us greater flexibility in meeting our SLA with our BCS/AA customers.The BCS AA side of our duties had us working with some of the largest Symantec customers, and some of the most politically escalated cases that would come through. This means clearly communicating with a company’s BCAM (Business Critical Account Manager) as well as being prepared to pick up high priority cases from and of our Remote Product Specialists when they are not available. This position requires a high level of technical accuracy as well as the soft skills to properly handle both technical and political escalations.Post merge with the Endpoint Security Advanced Team, our current job duties remain, but in addition to them we added working with the Frontline Team walkups/escalations/coaching and technical review of their basic/essential customer cases.

As a member of the Symantec Endpoint Security Global Backline team, I worked with a small group of highly skilled individuals to provide global support to a user base of approximately 750,000 customer entities through various layers of Front Line and Advanced technical resources protecting hundreds of millions of endpoints. While in this role, I worked closely with the development teams writing and maintaining the security products I supported. My duties included providing research and reproduction, issue tracking, documentation, coaching, providing training to frontline and advanced teams, advanced troubleshooting and consulting. Additionally, during my tenure with the team, I worked to produce several highly popular tools for diagnostic and specific issue remediation. These tools remain in popular use to this day on a daily basis. I left this position to continue my education, returning to Symantec after completing my 2 years of school.

While working as a member of the Symantec Endpoint Security Front Line team, I quickly distinguished myself as a capable team member and team leader. My basic duties were to provide excellent written, and verbal technical support to Symantec customers and partners. While a member of this team, I quickly began taking on additional responsibilities including working with the Global Escalations team to provide advanced level troubleshooting and support for high priority customers and issues.My primary duties included: Troubleshooting various network and software configurations, researching advanced and undocumented issues, creating knowledge base documentation, customer relation skills, phone/email support from an automated queue, and keeping our customers happy to be with the worlds leading security and availability company.My distinguished performance was quickly noticed and I was promoted to the Global Backline team in an unprecedented 7 months of working for this team. Special approval was needed for this promotion since I skipped over the Advanced team position as well as not being a member of the Front Line level 1 team for at least one year. I started my new position as a Regional and Global Backline Engineer 05/08.
