I have had 4 years experience in manufacturing and I have learned a lot along the way. I know one must pick up and learn quickly. My first job was a machine operator at a upholstery plant where I operated a machine called an Optimizer where it was designed to cut exact lengths of wood entered into the computer and I had to troubleshoot and performed maintenance on it when faults occurred. I also help assisted stacking the wood to the desired pallet relavent to the work order. I currently work at millwork plant that specializes in crown molding. I operate a machine called the pusher which allows different moldings out of MDF to go through a die head that implements polymer(melted plastic) onto the boards at temperatures up to 500 degrees. I also assemble arbors using blades on a shaft with the correct amount of spacing in between them for a specific profile using metal spacers from a inch and a half up to 8 inches apart then I must make sure the bearings are greased and tightly secured. Then I must use a crane manually to lift it up in the air and drop it in a multiscorer and bolt it down correctly. I also helped grade the finish product to make sure it was packable and stack them correctly according to the work order. I also became familiar with power tools and chop saws. I picked up lots of wisdom from other co workers on how to do jobs the best way.
