Managed patient placement and transportation IT systems. Successful leadership resulted in greater access, significantly increased patient volumes and revenue. Highlights include:• Helped Regions Hospital achieve market-leading status, including its Top Ten Percent ranking by Leapfrog and designation as One of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for 2016-2019 by Healthgrades.• Reduced transfer center diversions to near zero 3 years in a row through project management leadership to create simple, fast, reliable and safe admissions. • Gained eight (8) additional hospital beds at no cost through analytical and creative problem solving to shift outpatient surgeries and convert pre-op space for extended recovery use. • Reduced outpatient length of stay (LOS) by 11 hours (33%) by creating dedicated observation units. • Doubled and sustained early-morning discharges to open beds earlier, through physician and nursing collaboration to improve rounding effectiveness, EMR discharge communication and family expectations. • Reduced Operating Room elective admission variability by 55% through statistical analysis and service line evaluation to optimize hospital bed access and utilization. • Improved Pharmacy bedside medication delivery times in less than one hour from 26% to 99% and expedited hospital discharges through Lean analysis and implementation.• Profitably developed Minnesota’s only dedicated inter-facility ambulance service through new business development, capital planning, and contract negotiations to grow reliable and timely service delivery.
