Responsible for the safe operation of the long-wall, for meeting and surpassing daily & weekly production goals, outby long-wall work to prepare for power moves, utility advancement, supervising maintenance of the long-wall, maintaining & receiving supplies. • Passed Alabama state practical and written exams to become certified as a fully-qualified “Mine Foreman.”(2) Continuous Improvement Engineer (Metallurgical Coal) Mar 2013 – Jan 2014 Work on assigned mine improvement tasks in order to facilitate more efficient and cost effective mine operations, especially as related to improvement production of coal, improved safety of the workforce, and better planning.• Hand selected to conduct 6 week study of contractor operations at operations in British-Columbia. Planned and managed day to day operations including maintenance, logistic support to sections, and management of emergencies. Required to act as planner, estimator, logistics coordinator, and superintendent on numerous, geographically distant, simultaneous building construction projects.• Awarded Bronze Star for service as platoon leader for construction of forward operating bases that effectively enabled US Soldiers to fight the enemy inside the cities during 15-month deployment to northern Iraq.• Led an engineer platoon comprised of 46 members and outfitted with $1 million in construction tools & over $3 million in specialized construction equipment and combat vehicles. Planned and managed day to day operations including maintenance, construction support to customers, and mission scheduling/logistics. Responsible for maintaining the bug tracker, implementing the new internal wiki pages for tracking software bugs, and testing all bug fixes. Employed as the first full-time software tester, and was responsible for all testing of the 2003 release of MineSight3D. Also developed mine evaluation applications for rapidly evaluating the economic viability of coal operations.
