About Dylan Reid
Software engineer with a passion for building exciting applications and lifelong learning. I recently graduated from Hack Reactor and was selected as one of two students from my cohort to work as a SEIR (software engineering immersive resident). As a SEIR, I teach the next cohort of Hack Reactor students while looking for full-time opportunities.I love learning and growing. -Tasked with making many changes to the present engineering definition of the F-15 wing structure to improve quality and reduce cost.-Communicated with strength, manufacturing, and design engineers to ensure the design quality, producibility, and accuracy of parts. -Implemented an improvement to the wing’s sealant retaining components to save ~$600 per aircraft.-Made changes to the wing’s spars and hinge beam in order to improve quality and satisfy supplier requests for ease of manufacturing. -Used UG NX to create model-based definition parts.-Produced and revised complex 2-D drawings. -Worked 40 hours/week while taking two graduate level courses per semester as part of a Boeing graduate student program.
