Rotational engineer in Merck's Global Engineering Solutions Development Program which is designed to provide a broad-based range of structured and productive assignments to familiarize college graduates to Global Engineering Solutions and the Capital Project Management Process at Merck. Through a series of development assignments, I have gained experience as a Project Manager and a lead Process Engineer on two large capital projects. Additionally, I have led a number of projects ($5M - $10M) through high level scoping/estimating to incorporate into various business units long range capital plans and through the initial FEL-1 Business Case development stage gate. Lastly, I gained experience in the financial aspects of the capital project space through supporting the Project Business Services Estimating group as well as the Global Capital Planning & Reporting (GCPR) group which sits in the FP&A department of Merck.

During my time as a Technical Operations intern at Merck & Co. Inc., I was able to effectively and efficiently drive results and foster cross-functional collaborations throughout the duration of my remote internship.These projects included:- Development of a standardized system to aid in the initiation and communication of process deviations among departments- Established a metric tracking dashboard to streamline and automate daily communications- Redesigned and updated interactive user training modules- Created a system to track and monitor the state of process equipment through eLogs within the eShopFloor system

As an Operations Co-op at Croda Inc., I was able to experience roles within both Project Management and Process Engineering. As a project manager, I was able to successfully install and start-up a $300,000 capital expenditure project that focused on expanding the agricultural segment of the plant. As a process engineer, I focused on improving the plants efficiency and production, reducing utility usage, and improving operator safety.

As a Manufacturing Administrations intern in the Investigations department at Mylan Pharmaceuticals, I was able to gain valuable experience working in a highly regulated, face paced environment that followed all GxP practices. Throughout this internship I was tasked with various projects that included analyzing closed investigations in order to discover bottlenecks within the manufacturing process of the sites top 5 grossing products. This project led me to develop solutions that targeted these hotspots in order to eliminate these issues. Another project I focused on was to generate and maintain an automated system to track the people pathway of weekly closed investigations. This provided a picture of what stages investigations were at as well as the productivity of the department on a weekly basis. Other projects that I focused on during this internship included: summarizing and categorizing cleaning investigations to determine risk, aiding investigators in the generation of incident/investigation reports, and assisting in the revamp how investigations are categorized.
