Catering & Events Manager
I manage the planning of all catering operations for Snoice, an average of 1-3 events per week. Snoice provides full-service and take-out catering for private events (weddings, birthday parties, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, etc.) and public events and festivals. My work begins with customer inquiries, creating estimates and responding to inquiries. I have a strong success rate converting inquiries into sales. Once the event is confirmed, I work closely with the customer to understand their vision for their event and advise them on menu selections and timing. I then create an event timeline, schedule catering staff, assign prep tasks, and utilize strong communication to liaise between the customer and caterers who execute the event. Overall, our customers are incredibly happy with our services and continuously refer us to others.I joined the team as catering events were rapidly growing after a pause from COVID shutdowns. I have established strong relationships with the marketing and management teams to grow the catering operations and establish effective procedures for catering. In particular, I have adapted my approach to ensure catering operations are sustainable for all involved. I regularly seek and implement feedback from all members of the company including baristas, caterers, and managers to reduce burnout and develop commitment to the catering branch.
Assistant Director, Activities & Involvement
As the Assistant Director, I recruited, trained, led and evaluated a 14-member team in full-cycle event planning for 30+ events annually, with attendance between 100-2,000+ guests per event. This role allowed me to follow my passion for creating bold and comprehensive strategies to achieve event outcomes and return on investment. To achieve success, I employed effective event management skills including:- Utilizing software such as Trello, Google Suite, Salesforce, Canva, and CMS web editing- Maintaining relationships with multiple vendors per event including sourcing, negotiating contracts, processing paperwork, and managing payments- Collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders per event- Supporting marketing strategy including content creation and social media marketing- Oversight of the $500,000+ annual budget
Program Coordinator
As a Program Coordinator at UCSC, I was responsible to provide opportunities for students to engage in programs and events, focused on the mission of "Environment and Society". I recruited, hired, trained, supervised and evaluated a team that included 1 full-time Administrative Assistant, 10 interns, and 25+ volunteers. I developed, oversaw and generated revenue towards an annual budget of $90,000+. I managed an annual event calendar with 70+ events for 50-600+ attendees; in addition to these smaller events, I was a lead event manager for the annual commencement ceremonies which drew tens of thousands of guests to campus each June. I also managed multiple facilities including maintenance, design and reservations.Additional committees and initiatives I took up at the organization included:- Coordinate and develop content for annual staff professional development conference- Researched, conducted needs assessments, and wrote proposals to adopt new event-planning software- Developed strategies and key performance indicators for student success after engaging in programs and eventsIn February-June 2019 I was promoted into an interim management role. As a result, I managed the Programs Offices for two separate departments. I utilized strong leadership, management and organizational skills as I doubled my budgets, staff, event and program responsibilities.
