In this short-term appointment I assembled electrophysiology equipment for use in recording electrical activity of neurons in the laboratory of Dr. George Wilcox. Once the equipment was assembled I taught a colleauge how to use the equipment to record currents entering through excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in brainstem neurons.

Liao Lab

In Dr. Liao's laboratory I investigated the neurobiological underpinnings of Alzheimer's disease, specifically the role of tau in disruption of excitatory neurotransmission between hippocampal neurons. See publications below.

While pursuing my Ph.D. in Neuroscience in the Graduate Program in Neuroscience I worked as a teaching assistant in Introductory Neuroscience for neuroscience majors and Biopsychology for psychology majors.
