I specialize in assessing the economic effects of public policies that affect natural resource management. I also has extensive experience managing and conducting economic analyses in support of attorneys litigating matters that involve economic liability and damages. These types of cases include antitrust or other anticompetitive activities, intellectual property and patent infringement, contract disputes, fees for municipal services, pollution, contamination and natural resource damage assessments.I am part of a new teaming partnership, Salus Resilience. Founded in 2016, I (of ECONorthwest) teamed with Hart Crowser, Jay Raskin Architect, and WRK Engineers. Our core team's goal is to provide resilience assessment, planning, and design services.   Much of my project work focuses on economic resilience, assessing the economic effects of public policies that affect natural-resource management (e.g., low impact development, economic damages to natural resources from contamination events), and litigation support (antitrust, intellectual property, right-of-way, and healthcare). Below is a sample of projects detailing my most recent work:Natural-Resource Management • Described the economic effects of designating critical habitat for two endangered species of fish in the Klamath Basin. • Conducted socioeconomic analysis of the alternatives in Resource Management Plans for BLM-administered lands in Western Oregon. Our timber-related analyses included projecting and valuing timber harvests, and estimating revenues paid to counties. • Reviewed the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Final Environmental Impact Statement on deepening the shipping channel in the Columbia and Willamette Rivers.Litigation Support • Described natural resource damages to coastal property in Louisiana as a result of the Deepwater Horizon/BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. • Analyzed claims of misappropriation of trade secrets, intentional interference with economic relations, and breach of contract. • Assessed potential antitrust behavior in the market for acute care and tertiary medical services. • Conducted multiple economic analyses of damages to workers due to alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
