I joined the company as a software developer in early 2004, and was promoted to tech lead after months shortly. • The Shanghai branch started expanding rapidly from 2005 to 2006. About 1,000 engineers were hired in less than 2 years. I was promoted to development manager in 2005. Besides my development responsibilities, I was also involved with the technical interviewing part of countrywide campus recruitment and technical training programs in a very fast-paced way. • From 2007, I was promoted to senior manager and became more engaged with the Inventor API development. Inventor is one of Autodesk’s bestselling products, and the API is crucially important for a substantial number of customers and downstream partners. Released every year to meet the growing market demands. The particularity of this project is that it requires heavy coordinating and collaborating work with product designing teams, features teams, QA teams, and even marketing teams, both internally and externally. In each release cycle, requirements from customers and partners were collected, prioritized, defined during the definition phase. I need to figure out the overall plan, working with both designing team, development team and QA team. Tasks get broken down for better estimation and track. During the implementation phase, more coordination required to work with feature teams. Saving some bandwidth for cross team support also needed to be considered. During the validation phase, definition for next release typically get kick off. I reported to my headquarter manager for the overall planning, progressing, resource allocation, issues tracking, performance review etc. Show less
