I work in the Crommie Research Group, an experimental condensed matter group. Current fields of research include 2D transition metal dichalcogenides, carbon nanostructures, photovoltaics, magnetic nanostructures, and molecular machines. Participated in the UC LEADS summer research program. I worked in the Dr. Dollar lab in the physics department at UC Irvine.In my project, I simulated the interaction of millions of ions forming a plasma to investigate laser wake-field acceleration. I used high-performance computing, MATLAB, and operated in a Linux environment. I facilitated my work by creating gifs to animate multiple data plots. As an advisor, I am responsible for creating a residential environment in which all views, popular and unpopular, can be voiced, heard respectfully, and fully explored. My specific role as an advisor are focused more on the community aspect, which includes planning programs and discussions about cultural background, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, race, class, gender, and other diversity issues; hosting at least one internal social outing/gathering a month, coordinating cultural nights… Show more As an advisor, I am responsible for creating a residential environment in which all views, popular and unpopular, can be voiced, heard respectfully, and fully explored.
