In my role as Senior QA Analyst, I have undertaken functional test design and execution, within several team’s responsible for legacy applications, single page web apps, api services, identity providers (both external auth & Identity Server 4) and PC client components of SAS solutions. Platforms tested include iOS, Android, Win8, Web apps, connected to Windows Services linked to encrypted SQL Server databases via REST services. Testing includes fully integrated regression testing ensuring the integrity of the SAS solution before being handed over to UAT and Production. Test plans/cases are developed from detailed specification stories that are fully reviewed for testability and ensure they are fit for purpose. Duties include estimations and project planning for test effort and other project inputs. As a Project Lead Tester I undertake functional manual test design and execution, on change requests of existing solutions and new projects. Applications tested include Windows Mobile and Android solutions, connected to Windows Services linked to SQL Server databases. Including various interfaces that are used to communicate with client’s enterprise solutions. Testing includes fully integrated end to end testing ensuring data integrity and transformation. Test plans/cases are developed from detailed specification documents that I fully review for testability and ensure they are fit for purpose. Duties include estimations and project planning for test effort and other project managerial inputs. The role involved second and third line support of more problematic issues, for replication and statistical analyst to be provided to development teams for correction. Also management and control of high priority issues, including in depth problem solving and replication of issues within local systems for the purpose of either mitigation or elimination so that the clients business is not interrupted. Design and implementation of internal ticket tracking system to be used by all aspects of the business in the control of defects and issues. Extra duties also included onsite training of clients in Blackbay solutions to enable them to diagnose and escalate issues in an efficient manner. Training and mentoring of newly acquired staff within the Managed Services department. Ranging from first line to third line support activities, supporting Blackbay customers with issues and reported problems within their systems. Information gathering and investigation of a wide range of defects either at an application level (installed on Window Mobile devices) or through distributed networks. Internal project work included implementing and upgrading either internal or client systems remotely through a range of connection technologies. Data tracing activates to plot any problem data, with the aim of highlighting problem areas to be improved. Onsite information gathering for integration of new clients into the Blackbay support system. Classroom teaching and one-to-one tutoring of adult students, for computer skills from basic computer option to introductory programming languages. This included lesson preparation and execution from syllabus to examination. Extra responsibilities in examination moderation for international partner tertiary intuitions.
