Managed a team of Programmers and DP Analysts working within the Strategic Insight team.Since joining I have helped invigorate the team, giving them clear purpose overall and as individuals. Without clear leadership, the team was working long hours and projects were not being delivered on time. Improvements include:- Championed using Decipher platform and participated in negotiations for a long-term contract at a substantially reduced cost (based on previous year)- Pushed for creating feature rich surveys using videos/images for Campaigns within Sky- Helped develop custom questions within Decipher- Managed all work load coming into the team to make sure that tasks were aligned with best suited team member and that there was capacity to pick up the project- Created processes that helped with:o a standardised approach to programming, creating consistency across projects and advocating reusable codeo reducing the need for team to work long hourso aligning team responsibilities from start to endo reducing repetition using templates for surveyso automation of tasks, by creating scripts that ran common tasks o reassessing the sample cleaning/formatting through automation, which reduced task from 2 hours to 15 minuteso quick programming by creating a scripting library of common questions/code- Mentoring and 1:1 sessionsI am a big advocate of increasing and sharing knowledge, so have focused on 1:1 mentoring and personal development of my team. These discussions help identify strengths and weaknesses, and help create a tailored and unique plan to that individual where development will help not only them but the team as well. Because of these and other improvements, projects are delivered consistently on time, and the output of projects has increased dramatically while improving work life balance.
