As a fellow I am tasked with writing and developing a research project, working with a mentor and experts in the field, sessions with other fellows to sharpen knowledge of the field, the opportunity for my research to be published and be awarded prizes, and get to present my research in the spring at a conference in Washington, D.C. My research will be focused on the role of the U.S. in foreign policy relating to Latin America and how it pertains to the status of LGBTQ+ rights and Gender-Based Violence in the region today.
