AT&T acquired Appnexus in August 2018 and formed Xandr -- our goal is to Make Advertising Better.Co-chair of The Women's Network's Professional Development Committee.

The TPM team acts as an in-house consulting agency. The goal is to quickly and efficiently get the client set up on VTS with both manual data onboarding to our platform, as well as automated data pulls via an integration. The TPM focuses on setting up the integrations that facilitate automated data pushes to VTS alongside the client, as well as managing the collection of additional data to onboard. The TPMs work directly with our sales, account management, and product teams to complete these tasks.In addition to my role, I am part of an ad hoc Diversity Committee created to help foster a diverse and inclusive culture at VTS.

Joined VTS through merger of Hightower and VTS in November 2016.

This position combined Account Management, with Sales and Marketing. I managed affairs with 135+ partner schools and was the school’s point of contact when issues arose. I communicated with the Beijing office to solve any issues our partner schools encounter. I planned interstate trips to visit our partners and conducted feedback interviews.

I conducted in-person interviews of Chinese students applying to U.S. and Canadian schools. These interviews were video tapped and evaluated. I managed the operations and processing of videos after an interview day to ensure they were delivered on time and without issues to the schools. These videos provided admissions officers insight on students’ behavior, fit, and English fluency of the students. Vericant travels to 15 cities in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, as well as Japan and Korea. On average, I traveled once a month to conduct multi-day interviews with students.

This college-wide effort aims to build a structure that encourages students to identify and cultivate their interests from day one. It also inspires students to acquire the knowledge, experiences, and relationships necessary to pursue future aspirations with creativity and integrity. When coupled with a liberal arts education, the Initiative prepares students for success in the modern economy.My role in the Initiative was to contribute to the successful launch and management of the new Purposeful Work Internship Program. I worked with different social media outlets to promote the Internship Program as well as market a diverse array of internship opportunities. Since this is the first year of the Internship program, I also analyzed the various data available to determine what improvements could be made going forward.Beyond the Internship program, I prepared and executed workshops for co-curricular activities and clubs at Bates about purposeful work to help cultivate peers’ strengths, reflect on their place in communities of work, and recognize opportunities students have to contribute to the world beyond themselves.

I supervised 40 employees that were part of the wait staff to make certain that the daily operations of the restaurant were running smoothly and efficiently, which included, but were not limited to: opening and closing the restaurant, seeing that service operations were proceeding smoothly, ensuring that the staff members were properly executing their duties, and making certain that patrons were completely satisfied with their dining experience. I worked closely with the wait staff, as a team, to build and maintain a positive work environment. I was personally accountable for maintaining key relationships with guests and employees.

As a bookkeeper, I kept the restaurant's financial records and reconciled the financial accounts to ensure that they were balanced. Every day, I did the daily financial sales from the previous day and made sure the financial accounts matched with the sales. I also processed the employee's payroll. This included keeping track of employee hours, writing and sending the information to the payroll company, making sure the checks matched the information calculated, and distributed the checked.

Faculty Mentor: Dr. Robert ShapiroGraduate Student Mentor: Amber SpryMy research is on the factors that impact Asian-American political participation.I conducted graduate-level research under the supervision of a Columbia faculty mentor. I had the pleasure of working with an expert in political participation, political scientist Dr. Robert Y. Shapiro and primarily with PhD candidate Amber Spry. My research explored questions on Asian-American political participation, a field that is relatively sparse in American political science literature. We also condensed a semester’s worth of statistics into two-weeks to learn how to use the statistical analysis software, STATA, which was vital for our research projects. I completed an original research project, which became the foundation for my senior thesis at Bates.
