As a research intern, I had the privilege of exploring the fascinating field of continual learning with a specific focus on the Fisher Information Matrix. My work involved investigating novel approaches and techniques to enhance the ability of machine learning models to learn continuously from streaming data without forgetting previously acquired knowledge and also learn multiple tasks avoiding the catastrophic forgetting. By leveraging the power of the Fisher Information Matrix, I delved into developing strategies for preserving and updating model parameters, optimizing for efficient computation and memory utilization. Through extensive experimentation and analysis, I contributed to the advancement of continual learning methodologies, striving to bridge the gap between static and dynamic learning paradigms. This experience allowed me to deepen my understanding of lifelong learning algorithms and their practical implications, equipping me with valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in this rapidly evolving field.
