Following my freelance project at Red River Stables, I was extremely flattered to be recommended to CMC, to set up their digital media initiatives.Developing their social media strategy across multiple channels, building exciting campaigns, creating visuals and writing content to support wider company business initiatives, it’s been a really exciting and varied start to my career at CMC.I do a lot of the behind-the-scenes technical and improvement work on the company website, optimising pages for search engines, aligning all digital media platforms with a consistent brand identity and keywords, as well as working to boost our Google rankings. More recently, I have taken on responsibility for our corporate events, providing support, facilitation, communications and relevant marketing assets for both our internal events and external conferences. Assisting with the on-boarding of new joiners, I also keep members of staff connected and in the loop through internal communications and our monthly newsletters. I am also very privileged to be involved with internal groups that mean a lot to me - our Wellbeing team and our EDI team. In these groups, I help to support colleagues through mental health and diversity & inclusion initiatives, leading sessions, writing articles, raising awareness, and creating safe spaces to open up conversation in these areas. I am extremely proud to have been a key part of the wellbeing initiatives that led to CMC being awarded the 'Workplace Wellbeing' award at the Mental Health & Wellbeing Wales Awards 2022.

I harnessed some really diverse experience and learnings during my internship, creating digital welcome packs, enhancing my Canva design skills, and supporting client acquisition and business development initiatives.I also gained experience with events planning and events marketing, as well as supporting with the creation of event materials.I was responsible for content creation on social media platforms as well as in writing blogs for the website. This is the part I most loved about the internship, as I began to see the connection between digital marketing and my passion for writing.

I was approached by a family friend to support in refreshing the communications for their holiday let business in Cornwall. I completed a communications audit, carrying out research on target demographics, identifying personas and analysing existing customer data, as well as comparing booking sites and exploring new branding and digital opportunities. I reported back my recommendations, with a focus on social media.I set up and populated an Instagram channel, reactivated a dormant Facebook page, and integrated personalised and authentic content across the two platforms. I created a portfolio of social media assets to make it easier for them to utilise social media time efficiently, with very little time to spare on staying socially visible in the midst of running a business. These assets really focused on portraying a human element, showing personality and authenticity to effectively market Red River Stables on these platforms.As part of this, I also digitised the welcome pack - creating QR codes and revamping the existing welcome pack with targeted recommendations and a new visually appealing look. I also planned, created and wrote a 12-month email campaign, and overall supported them in digitally optimising their business.

In this role, starting pretty much from scratch, I developed the digital presence of the Leicester West branch and put in place a digital marketing strategy, focusing on boosting online engagement and establishing connections within local online communities.Whilst social media channels had previously been set up, they were completely dormant and I was solely responsible for content creation, growing their digital media presence, along with content creation for email marketing campaigns.I also undertook market research and produced innovative content for paid-for digital ad campaigns, evaluating audience engagement using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Ad Manager.
