About Elaina Wilson
I’m an Assistant Attorney General in the Charitable Law Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office with interests in corporate and nonprofit operations, trust and estate law, taxation, and education. My practice currently focuses on civil investigations and enforcement involving charitable trusts and nonprofit corporations, as well as charitable gaming and probate litigation involving charitable beneficiaries. In the short time I’ve been at the Attorney General’s Office, I have drafted countless motions, briefs, and memoranda, successfully negotiated several civil, administrative, and probate matters, participated in mediations and depositions, and represented the State of Ohio in a handful of court proceedings across the state, including an eminent domain jury trial which resulted in a favorable verdict. I also won the Attorney General’s Exemplary Service Award in Spring 2024. I am a “Double Hoosier” and graduated from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in May 2022. During law school, I was a Notes and Comments Editor for the Indiana Law Journal, a participant and Competition Board Member for the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition, and a pro bono participant with the Protective Order Project. Additionally, my Note, “Can Social Science Teach Congress New Tricks?: Addressing the Need for Educational Support Dogs in Classrooms,” was published in the Indiana Law Journal Supplement, Vol. 97. As a law student, I also clerked in the Taxation Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and served as a legal extern for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In my spare time, I love to cook, read, run, write short stories and poetry, and spend time outdoors. You can reach me at elainahopewilson@gmail.com.

Ohio Math Corps Member
As a member of the Ohio Math Corps, I served in a local elementary school for the 2018-2019 academic year by providing daily math intervention to students in grades K-5.
Departments Editor
812 is a IU-based, student-run magazine about and distributed throughout Southern Indiana. The magazine is published in both online and print editions and has also won more than 40 state, regional and national awards. As departments editor, I edited all staff writers' and editors' front of the book stories for content and AP Style. Attached is one of my larger, semester-long projects that was published in both the print and online versions of 812.
Senior Peer Consultant
As a Senior Peer Consultant for Indiana University's Mentoring Services and Leadership Development, I worked closely with trained Faculty and Staff for Student Excellence (FASE) peer mentors and 21st Century Scholars students on a weekly basis. I ensured that scholars are earning enough credits per semester and are on the right track for their respective degrees, coach academic probation students on boosting their GPAs and mentor students for strengthening their time management and organizational skills, as well as their professional and leadership development.
Peer Mentor
Faculty and Staff for Student Excellence (FASE) is a peer mentoring organization that operates under the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity at Multicultural Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington. As a trained FASE peer mentor with this organization, I was paired with 6-8 first year students at the start of each academic year. I met with each student on a regular basis and helped them adjust academically, professionally and socially on IU's campus. FASE also puts on a range of events throughout the year, including business etiquette dinners, cover letter building workshops, study table events, as well as service learning and volunteer-based projects, which we attend with our mentees.
Student Director
The Body Project is an organization that promotes body positivity and self-love within the Panhellenic community on college campuses. As a student director, I organized and lead monthly meetings, which included interactive activities and engaging discussion with members from all 22 of IU's Panhellenic chapters. I also trained new peer leaders each semester, so they are able to host workshops within their individual chapters as well. Additionally, I oversaw chapters other than my own to ensure that they completed their required workshops for each semester and are getting the most out of the program as possible.
Alumnae Relations Coordinator
As Alumnae Relations Coordinator, I communicate regularly with Alpha Gamma Delta alumnae, organize initiation ceremony and put together homecoming activities. Within this position, I also spearheaded a new mentoring program within the chapter, connecting alumnae with current collegiate members with similar career goals and interests.
Vice President Of Campus Relations
As Vice President of Campus Relations, I served as my chapter's Panhellenic Delegate, attending Panhellenic Council meetings and relaying the information discussed back to the chapter on a weekly basis. I also planned chapter-wide volunteering events with other greek organizations and organized a non-partisan Rock the Vote event, in which all four greek councils on campus came together to register students to vote in the 2016 election. As a part of our philanthropy, I also organized packets of diabetes-friendly hot cocoa for each Greek organization on campus that included facts about diabetes and the American Diabetes Association. Additionally, I oversaw chapter's campus and community involvement, ensuring each member volunteered at least 10 hours per semester. During my term, I was also invited to attend the 2016 Alpha Gamma Delta International Convention in Orlando, Florida.
Editorial Intern
During my time at Columbus Monthly magazine, I wrote a front of the book story about pizza-delivery robots published in their September 2017 issue, a profile for a special "Everyday Heroes" issue (published in September as well) and two blog post stories on the magazine's website. I also wrote a story about the New Albany Classic Invitational Grand Prix & Family Day published in the September 2017 issue of Columbus Parent. On top of my writing projects, I put together the weekly e-newsletters, worked on fact checking projects for the Restaurant Guide, participated in editorial meetings and did quite a bit of copyediting.
Student Intern
During my senior year at Bloomington High School North, I had the opportunity of serving as a student intern for Hilliard Lyons, a financial consulting firm. As a student intern, I completed a variety of projects, some of which include drafting a mock will and negotiating a mock entertainment contract with an L.A.-based entertainment lawyer and a local country music artist.
