I developed new business and led change management related projects involved change plans, training and communications work. One of my most memorable projects was during the pandemic working with a public health organization to develop a COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan. I led the team that developed the communications and eLearning for vaccination site managers and clinicians to ensure vaccines were optimally delivered, stored and used in the initial wave of vaccine availability.

This role was an internal-facing consultant role working closely with the tax practice, initially, and then I went on to support the entire business advisory unit.In this role, I partnered with leaders and teams to assess the need for and develop change plans to support teams across multiple geographies adopt new technologies and processes. I created a set of metrics to measure adoption and behavior, using them to guide training and communications activities.

Worked with the Operations Division to re-organize teams so that they aligned to value chains. I led a large cross-functional team to realign functional areas and teams resulting in fewer layers, redeployment of roles and process efficiencies. I also worked with leaders to identify new roles and teams to develop job roles and descriptions, project managing work with HR to market-value roles, recruit and onboard over 200 new specialist roles

My initial focus was on organizational change management projects in various industries including Energy, Insurance and Consumer Goods. I subsequently went on to work on M&A projects focused on the people side of a deal. In this work, I led various projects to support acquisitions and integrations very often including technology and the reorganization and development of teams with the attendant training and leadership development.

I worked for this start-up learning solutions company to support sales and marketing efforts to sell learning content management implementation projects. My work ran the gamut from selecting learning management systems to implementing them. I learned so much about the technologies and the requirements for organizations who want to leverage their learning technology to the max!Designed, developed and implemented a blended curriculum of instructor-led and eLearning to support a new to market launch of an immunoassay diagnostic machine. This resulted in lower costs to implement and support.

After working as a contractor for the relocation department where I had developed their Relocation Guide, I subsequently joined the team as a full-time employee. I loved the opportunity to design elements of the program and then lead the charge to implement them.I led a team of seven project managers to plan and manage the relocation process for 4,000 public housing residents in CHA housing complexes into new, mixed income housing throughout Chicago as part of the city’s Plan for Transformation. Worked with housing developers to prepare and set the schedule for leasing, creating plans to support public housing residents’ readiness to move under the requirements of the Relocation Rights Act. Collaborated with local social service providers to coach public housing residents on readiness requirements for mixed income housing.

Affiliated with the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago, the Financial Research and Advisory Council (FRAC) worked on projects to improve Chicago as a place to live, work and conduct business. Managed a team of five consultants building the methodology for project and study definition and execution.Collaborated with pro-bono resources from McKinsey, Deloitte and others on performance improvement projects at Chicago Public Schools and at the Chicago Housing Authority.

Led instructional design projects performing needs assessments, curriculum design, program design and development and implementation of global and local learning interventions. Supported change management projects planning the transformation for a hospital remodel and the design and development of training in support of a Federal Agency's changing customer service model.

Supporting the West Africa desk, I provided administrative support to the programs and grants for this part of the world. ActionAid offers sponsorship of children which in turn supports programs like education, clean water and access to micro-financing.I learned a great deal about global economics and thoroughly enjoyed working with in-country personnel from Ghana, The Gambia and Sierra Leone.

I worked in a small town in Japan on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. I was assigned to a high school and worked closely with the English teachers to augment the teaching of the English language. There are so many memorable experiences. I loved the opportunity to live and work in Japan and get to know the culture, the language and people. I took language classes, learned Japanese flower arranging and even got a license to show Ikebana in the Ryu-se-ha school of flower arranging. I continued with Japanese language classes on my return to the UK.
