Ran a victorious campaign for Portland mayor Kate Snyder. Managed every aspect of campaign communications, including: social media, website creation, message development, email program creation and management, press releases, texting program, web graphic design, video production and editing, and paid digital ads. Advised on strategy for field, press, and volunteer management.

As a digital strategist at Trilogy, I crafted digital strategy for some of the largest political campaigns, nonprofits, and unions in the country. Front-end web development intern. Learned the basics of web development, including advanced use of HTML and CSS and an intro to Javascript. Combined interests in technology and civics to make a new website for the Town of Long Island, Maine as an internship project.

Advocated for open government initiatives in local municipalities by leading outreach efforts to local governments and nonprofits in Southern Maine. Helped found the nascent civic hacking community in Maine by organizing meetups, hack nights, and managing outreach and communications to members. Presented to city councils, formed relationships with elected officials, and engaged with citizen stakeholders while advocating for open government policies.

Directly oversaw the grassroots outreach strategy that elected 5 first-time members to the Maine House of Representatives and aided in the reelection of the current Speaker of the House. Won 80% of highly targeted races. Perfected the political pitch. Created and managed targeted campaign communications that included 5000+ person direct mailings, press releases, campaign literature, Facebook pages and websites for 8 different state house candidates. Recruited, trained and retained hundreds of campaign volunteers. Conducted direct voter outreach through cold calls and door-to-door canvassing.

Wrote client correspondence, assisted in scheduling, answered phones, edited and drafted legal pleadings and oversaw smooth administrative functioning for a small general practice attorney. Created and managed the Google Plus listing and other local directories for the business. Created a wordpress-based website.

-Researched, drafted, and edited policy statements and fundraising appeals for the non-profit organization and posted these to the website using Drupal and HTML. Formatted and sent mass advocacy emails to a supporter base of over 7,000.- Chaired the Policy and Communications Committee and lead efforts to train and recruit new interns.

Lived and worked in the backcountry wilds of the Maine Appalachian Trail clearing and renovating hiking trails. Worked rain or shine in an incredibly close-knit team environment. This was one of the best jobs I've ever had.

Wrote targeted campaign communications to engage young voters on social media. Managed youth outreach and volunteer recruitment. Engaged voters directly through cold calls and direct voter interaction.
