The main task of this role was to investigate any discrepancies between the forecasted and actual foreign currency payments of each business unit within the company (eg. Confectionary, Nutrition, Coffee etc.). Where there was a significant difference I would work with the team to find the cause of the forecast inaccuracy and fix it moving forward. In this role, I found multiple issues with the forecast process which, when fixed, significantly reduced the currency volatility exposure for Nestle.Business Planning Team - During my 6-month rotation in this team my main duty was to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of the daily sales report. This report contained important information about the business operations which was crucial to have available first thing in the morning. Although a large part of the report was automated, I was required to understand the many variables that went into it, work with each business unit, and catch any inaccuracies in the report before it was made available. My other responsibility in the business planning team was to assist in the creation of the quarterly Profit and Loss forecast. This process is very large and time-consuming. Although my role was minor in the large scheme of things, it provided the costing team valuable assistance and gave me a greater understanding of the P/L statement. Sales Operations Executive - During my short time in this role I worked with the Coffee and Dairy team to understand their process for forecasting future sales and top-line expenses. My other main role was the creation of a new daily sales report. This new report consolidated important sales updates in one place for the Coffee and Dairy Team. Show less

Stepping into this role meant that all facets of their lives became my responsibility. I was responsible for staff rostering, recruitment, training, medical appointments, negotiating and implementing NDIS plans, house maintenance and much more. I also had to be ready for calls at any hour of the day to deal with incidents ranging from staff calling in sick to client hospitalisations. By successfully managing my team of over 20 DSP’s we were able to keep on top of these basic requirements while also ensuring that our clients got to do the things that mattered the most to them; regularly attending their favourite activities, eating their favourite homecooked meals, visiting their families and going on holiday.
